SHD0 to the Rescue, or How to Quickly Hide a Field in a Transaction
SHD0 to the Rescue, or How to Quickly Hide a Field in a Transaction
Sometimes you urgently need to hide an "unnecessary" field in a transaction because it's obstructive, cluttered, annoying, confusing, etc. Consultants receive emails with such requests almost as often as spam. Fortunately, this kind of task can be solved very quickly.
Let’s walk through an example of hiding the field "Name of the person conducting the individual appraisal" in transaction PHAP_ADMIN
:

Launch transaction SHD0
, enter the transaction code in which you want to hide the field, come up with a name for the transaction variant you’re about to create, and click the Create
button:

After clicking Create
, the transaction PHAP_ADMIN
will launch. There’s nothing we need to do here, so just press F3 or click the "Back" icon.

On the next screen, locate the field(s) you're interested in and check the box in the "Invisible" column:

Confirm the changes. On the next screen, enter a name for the created transaction variant and click Save
:

Return to the main screen of the transaction, go to the Standard Variants
tab, and activate the variant you just created:

Now launch the PHAP_ADMIN
transaction again to verify that the required field has been hidden.
