How to Hide an Employee's Date of Birth in the PREM Search Help?
Problem Statement
According to your company’s internal policies and regulations, there may be a need to hide employees’ birth dates when working with transactions PA20/PA30.

How can the desired result be achieved?
Solution
From a technical standpoint, the task involves hiding information in the integrated search help PREM, which is used to display employee search results in transactions PA20/PA30.

In the SAP system, an employee’s date of birth is stored as the start date of Infotype 0002 – “Personal Data,” and consequently, it is displayed in the PREM search help results.

To address the issue described above, you need to perform the following configuration in SPRO:
IMG Path: Personnel Management -> Personnel Administration -> Basic Settings -> Mask Date of Birth in Search Results -> Activate Masking Date of Birth in Search Results

It is also possible to maintain table T77S0
directly using transaction SM30
. Select one of the permissible values for the switch group ADMIN
, BIRTH
.

If necessary, it is also possible to hide the date of birth only for employees belonging to a specific personnel area. To do this, configure the setting located at the following path in SPRO:
IMG Path: Personnel Management -> Personnel Administration -> Basic Settings -> Mask Date of Birth in Search Results -> Restrict Masking Date of Birth to Specific Personnel Areas

As a result of these settings, the employee search results in transactions PA20/PA30 may appear as follows:
